History
M.Y. Healthcare has grown (organically and through acquisition)
throughout the 1990’s to create a single brand
in the pharmaceutical packaging marketplace. All
business units are focused on a common goal .…..
that of delivering customers the highest possible
standards in pharmaceutical and healthcare packaging.
Although now branded as M.Y. Healthcare, the
division is proud of its heritage and the contribution
made by several ‘family’ teams to
the now pan-European business. Kohler Packaging,
Portsmouth was the founding business of the division
developing a market in pharmaceutical cartons
and leaflets. This initiative was followed in
the 90’s with other established pharmaceutical
packaging suppliers being brought into this enlarging
UK family (Eagle Press, Cleanprint, Jensa and
TWG Packaging). In total they became the framework
for a multi-site, multi-product capability.
In 1998 the first mainland European company was
acquired. Based in Italy, Farmoprint (Labels,
Leaflets and Printed Foil) enabled the Healthcare
division to expand its international coverage.
The Italian operation was further enhanced by
the acquisition of Farmografica (Cartons) in the
year 2000.
1998 also saw M.Y. Healthcare in association
with Carl Edelmann GmbH & Co (Germany) and
LGR Emballages S.A. (France and Spain) create
a strategic pan-European alliance (PharmaPact®).
This alliance created a supply-chain network of
21 sites covering 6 countries, specifically focused
on pan-European pharmaceutical packaging.
Following considerable organic growth during
2000-2002 another acquisition was made in 2002.
Gallaghers in Ireland enabled the business to
further enhance its reputation of providing customers
with M.Y. Healthcare quality of product, internationally.
The merger of our parent company and Nampak in
2002 has enhanced the future prospects of the
M.Y. Healthcare division. This merger has created
a packaging based company with sales of €2
billon and a top 20 position within the world
packaging suppliers ranking.
